Head Coach - Jessica Church
Jessica Church started with gymnastics and dance at a young age but soon fell in love with horses. After 16 years of competitive horseback riding, including many hunter/ jumper championships, she discovered the sport of equestrian vaulting on Vancouver Island while volunteering with a therapeutic equestrian program. Jessica began vaulting in 2008, progressed quickly through the vaulter levels, and represented Canada internationally in 2012. She completed the Equestrian Vaulting Association of BC’s Provincial Vaulting Trainer and Gymnastics Level 1 certifications in early 2010 and continues to attend clinics to further her knowledge and skills. Jessica coaches the Fusion Vaulters and competes as an individual at canter, in addition to working as a dentist. She has a competitive focus on coaching compulsory exercises. Jessica enjoys helping vaulters with freestyle, specifically choreography, performance, and music selection and interpretation, but enjoys all aspects of teaching vaulting.

Assistant Coach - Abigale Wynberg
Abi is a coach in training with an impressive amount of competition experience already since she began vaulting in 2006. She competes as an individual in canter at the international level representing Canada. Abi also entered the international ring as part of the same canter team that head coach Jessica was formerly part of. Furthermore, before Abi moved to Canada, she represented South Africa at Worlds in Bruno as the canter team 'flyer'. Abi is extremely passionate about vaulting, coaching, and lunging. She has been teaching and lunging alongside Jessica in 2015 and is having fun working with our youngest walk and trot vaulters. Abi hopes to have a career working with horses and will complete her school's equestrian program and her vaulting trainer course in 2017.
Assistant Coach - Emma Marler
Emma is a former canter vaulter who is now attending university; she completed the vaulting coach certification in 2013. She has shared the job of lunging at competitions with Jessica. Emma has a diverse background in other sports including riding, volleyball, soccer, field hockey, and basketball - a sport where she reached a high level. Her BSc in Kinesiology has given her expertise in care and prevention of athletic injuries, exercise prescription, and measurement and evaluation in sport. She has had comprehensive training in physical education, including lesson planning and teaching and evaluating the basics of gymnastics. Emma has a ton of experience to draw on and help turn vaulters into better all-round athletes!
Currently we offer lessons in Aldergrove at October Farms, and Abbotsford at Honey Field Farm. Starting Spring 2018, there will be lessons starting in Ryder Lake BC, and Langley BC, for a limited number of vaulters.
Jessica is occasionally able to travel to teach lessons at other facilities in the lower mainland and on Vancouver Island, as a sub for other vaulting coaches or for special events such as demonstrations. She is also willing to teach clinics to groups of vaulters, or riders who want to give it a try, want to improve their riding seat, or improve their balance.
